Could this be air in the cooling system?

Yesterday while driving home, I was smelling the smell of coolant in the vehicle, so I did the KTMP test and saw that my car was running warmer than usual at 108-112C (Usually my car runs at about 103 C since I changed the thermostat). When I got home, I opened the hood and saw that the BLEEDER screw was off of the coolant tank, and the coolant was bubbling out of the tank and all over the place. So this morning, the bleeder screw was replaced, and an attempt to bleed the system was done. The temperature fluctuated from 112* C to 99C then to 103C then to 105C. Now when I drive the vehicle the temperatures are creeping around 106-110C. Could this still be trapped air or something more serious?

I changed to the 90c thermostat and my temperature would top out at 103C.

Is that the thermostat from Logic7Amps?

I bought one of those also and it didn't go a year before my car started running at 107. Contacted him and he suggested there was something wrong with my cooling system. Nope.

He offered for me to buy another and get a refund when I return the defective one, but he was out of prefacelift tstats. Even though he was going to order one and let me know, I never heard from him and gave up.

I should make an update post on here that it doesn't last long.

With the coolant system closed, are you losing coolant? If you run the car in the driveway for about 15 minutes with the coolant cap off, does it boil over? If that happens, you may be looking at a HG failure.

I extensively bled the system, I guess air was trapped somewhere, but that seems to have remedied the issue as I have consistent KTMP temperatures around to 99-103. Thank you all for the insight

What thermostat do you have to give you those temperatures?

Yes, I have that one also. I'm considering it a loss of money over just an OEM one. Mine runs 99-107*C like almost nothing changed. I emailed the guy and he has been little help. Basically blamed my cooling system, which is all new.

To the forum: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON IT. I've read various E39 threads where they were able to heat the t-stat spring and lower the temp down to 98*C. I'm going to try that on this one next and see if I can lower the temps myself.

I agree, I was under the impression my temperature would be lowered more so in the 90s.

When I first got it, it sat around 99-100. I emailed the guy and was like WTF, it is not 90*C. I get that it may run a little hotter, but c'mon, t-stats should run about at their rated temperature. Anyway a pile of garbage I say and you have to be persistent with the emails to get any info from the guy.
