850ci remote lock/unlock issues

Hey guys my friend who has a 97 850 is having a crazy issue and I was wondering if maybe somebody here hadn’t had the same issue.

The initial problem was that using the remote to lock and unlock the car makes the car lock and unlock immediately. So imagine you hit the lock button on the remote, the car will lock and half a second later will unlock.

The secondary issue is that the convenience feature that opens the windows and the sunroof engages by itself after the car just sits for a while.

I have a donor 850 that we have tried just about every module related to the door locks as well as the general module to see if anything helps and nothing has corrected the problem. Also since the remote receiver is in the mirror we unplugged the mirror and just left it like that for a day or two and the windows and sunroof still open up.

Anyone ever run into this?

That sounds like the drivers door lock microswitch is stuck - the system believes that car is being unlocked all the time - so you lock the car it will immediately unlock. That would also initiate the convenience unlock features too....

Could be, but you can lock the car just fine with the physical key. It’s just using the remote that presents a problem.
