    e36 LM4 conversion

Planning to swap motors after a slight track mishap...(tranny blew and ended up with a moneyshift fml)

Did quite a bit of research on possible options for my 99 m3, and Im thinking about a LM4 conversion. Seems like my best bet for the power/price/weight.

So my question stands, will any 5.3L Chevy truck motor (from 2003-2005) work for this as well as what other part will I need to purchase? I found a nice list on another forum however Im not 100% certain this is all I'll need, seems too good to be true.

5.3 truck motor - believe so. I'm using an L33 which is a 10 to 1 CR...310 HP from GM.

As far as list of parts - try a search. I update my thread nearly daily with our swap of an L33 into a 97 M3 4 door. I've listed nearly every step so far. Hopefully it will start in 3 weeks...(we keep saying 3 weeks...).

Double your estimate for cost...it is not inexpensive unless serious fabrication skill or free parts...

    Good Luck!
