I created an account just to say how stoked I am for this and i created an account just to say this. I've been getting parts for a K24 into my E10 and would love to see more photos of your process!

Hello, I have had a few people ask for status updates so I decided to just make a QUICK video going over a few things. I hope this helps answer some of the questions that you may have been having:

How did you know when you had a good engine and placement before making the motor mounts?

    **I am not an expert**
There are two things that I considered:
    1. The motor mount angle, which can be defined by bolting up the Oil Pan, and the angle that the motor has once it sitting on the oil pan, flat on the ground is how it should be mounted. I achieved this by placing a flat surface on my jack, and raising the motor up to where I wanted to mount it.
    2. The motor alignment, which is the motor, trans, driveshaft, and differential alignment. This one is a little more tricky to achieve correctly, although possible to do (since someone with less skills and I was able to do it). What I did was to make the transmission mounts first, and ensure that it is centered and at the correct height (enough space for the selector rod to be placed on top and not touching anything, winged this one). Then I positioned the Motor correctly and fabricated the motor mounts, ensuring that the motor and trans were pointed straight at the Diff.

I have not looked too much into Driveshaft options, and that is something that some good insight on would help me out in the upcoming months if anyone reading has to share?

Ohh, so with #1, did you rest it on the flat cutout section of the oil pan? I'm assuming there's a gap between the oil pan and the subframe? I just built in CAD some tools to help me with attaching a laser pointer to both the transmission and the diff, so they line up.

@E10, it’s just like how @Okieflats sent pictures of. The oil pan needs to be modified, speed academy did the same thing on their Kswap 240x. I have pictures of the oil pan in earlier posts.
Interested to see what tools you’ve developed in CAD!

Thanks for the images and confirmation. Here are some screenshots of the things I'm printing up. The one on the left attaches to the diff flange and the one on the right attaches to the transmission. Each one will hold a laser pointer.

E10, THATS AWESOME!!! Legit that’s exactly what I’m looking for right now haha the e21 driveshafts are both too long for my setup. I believe the 5speed trans may be able to use stock driveshaft depending on mounting placement.

Could you elaborate more on how you plan on creating a custom driveshaft? *I do not have the skills or the equipment to even attempt to try this but just want an understanding. This information may also be useful to give a driveshaft shop if required you know?

    Thanks!

Thanks! I plan on using the e21 driveshaft, but will have a professional shop cut it down to length, if needed. From what I hear, it should cost somewhere around 150 bucks or so. Once I get things lined up, I'd imagine I'd keep the stock position of the center bearing.

    Which transmission are you using?
