Hi Alec, I have been watching your auction on B-a-T with great interest and it must be bittersweet to let go of such a great car. I'm sure you have good reason to do so and hope that your car sells for all the money. I own 850CSi number 57, also in hellrot, Roger Wray's old car and it has been a true joy to drive. It's about time these market under-appreciated, rare cars take off and I sincerely hope your car will set the bar on B-a-T for the ultimate factory E31. Several of our cars have already passed the $100K mark selling privately, and I hope yours does as well.
I would also like to comment on your wonderful, passion-filled video. Your being a professional certainly shows in this tribute to your CSi. Thank you for producing it and sharing with everyone. I had the honor of having my car featured on the cover of Hemming's Sports & Exotic Car magazine before they stopped publishing it, and want you and all the SoCal E31 guys and gals to know that I proudly wore my SoCal shirt for the shoot even though you couldn't see the logo very well. Having a life in photography I truly appreciate your talent with video production and look forward to whatever the next step is for you. I sincerely hope you'll rejoin the active E31 owner ranks again once your next goal is achieved. BEST wishes for you in the future. --George Whiteley
This is indeed a surprise, Alec!
Seems you and I are both turning a new page in car ownership.
I'm hoping to change brands for something a little different, but it's hard to imagine your next venture not involving another red 850CSi!
Not sure how you're feeling about letting yours go, but I'm a little torn, as I know that by selling now I'll probably never be in a position to own a decent CSi again.
Very well presented ad by the way...good luck with the sale.

Hi Geroge. Thank you very much for your kind words and compliments. We spoke two years ago about your CSi #57. Glad to see you still have it and enjoy it. I'm not moving away from E31s by any means. If anything, stronger than ever. This is just a bump and push towards a personal and career investment for me, which in turn will allow me to buy more of these beautiful cars. Also, I'm still representing 3-5 other CSi's through my Club225 agency, so this auction hopefully will set the bar high as you mentioned and pave the road for the rest of the community. The last CSi to be sold on Bring A Trailer was March 2016, when the market was totally different. My car will show the strength of the market I've helped build (alongside many others) in the last 2+ years... The passion films have certainly helped.
Looking forward to a massive Friday closing. (hoping someone in California will buy it so the car stays close by) haha.

Starting with Taylors CSi film, I like the way CSi owners are forming personalities for their cars. Americans seem to be naturally suited to talking for long periods on film about anything. If this was a UK car, the film would be very short "Here is my car, errrr It's for sale errr call me if you would care to take a look" hahahah
Hahahaha. good one. I think as Americans, we possess the handle on media, which shows through ALL aspects, e.g movies, music, music videos, commercials, TV shows etc... and of course, that bled over to Classic Car films as well. Last year, after having sent the questions to Taylor and getting back a LONG and thorough word document which made the final selection of the film's CSi owner a lot easier), I also I spent several hours on the phone with him and Gary with a ton of planning, plus finding the locations, which helped me write and create the final outcome of his CSI film (together with the rest of the Petrolicious team). I must have driven to San Diego and back to LA 10 times during that production. Once I took the train back home. lol

I'm selling due to a personal and business investment (for advancement in life), not because I'm tired of E31s. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. I'll be on the hunt for another one soon enough, if not yesterday...

I still doing work to mine, Headlining done, having some paint sorted and stripping out the front suspension and brakes for powder coating/refurb. I figure its money well spent.
Maybe late this year I'll get some decent photos and put the history file together before listing it for sale. It will likely have its own domain name/webpage.
I bought my first E31 after watching this wobbly effort:

Can't see the first link Timm, Your Advert was great! That's the kind of thing I will probably do with mine.
You know, I was wondering why this car seemed familiar to me, and then I looked at the service records on the BaT listing. This is John Suit's old CSi. I don't know if there are any Washington Area 8ers still around, but if so, they will certainly remember John, and this car. I've actually sat in this long before Alec. LOL. I know Alec is manic about his cars; John was the same way (I don't know anything about the intervening owner). John sold it when he bought a Ferrari Maranello, which I also got to sit in.
