another seat memory module failed...my $24.00 fix, purist beware

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'm not replacing another Memory module. The first was an E34 module. Later I swapped in and rewired for an E32 set of seats as mine were in rough shape. Now the E32 module has failed. This time though the mirrors still function correctly. I ordered some SPDT relays and I am wiring them in place of the memory module. I will get it finished this weekend but I have tested all circuits and they work correctly. I have of course lost all memory functions. The relay trick would no work for the mirrors so if the would require switching the switch and wiring over from a non memory car. I plan to have sit in the space between the bottom of the seat pad and the top of the memory module..

    Some bad pics...

Why not just swap in a non memory seat harness ? It plugs right into the existing motors. I did this with my sport seats that had a dead mem module

I considered it but I had to find one and get it sent. The relays were here in 2 days. Also, the switch and wiring for memory mirrors are different from non memory. How did your mirrors work?

I'm only seeing one pic. Have a schematic of what you did? I would be interested.

Hmm not sure what happened to my pictures.. I have a badly hand written schematic. I am in Chicago until Thursday when I get back home I will attempt to make what I have readable.

Thank you. I replaced my memory seats with manual seats and rigged up the mirrors with a small jumper harness and old memory module so this would be great.

I'm confused by your response... You have non memory seats in your originally memory capable car? If this is right you should only need to apply power and ground to the seat for the motors to be functional. Or, are you going to put the memory seats back in and wire up a bunch of relys like I did?
