Hi guys! I finally have the resources to put some money into the E21 and I found a molded carpet set from stockinteriors.com. Has anybody tried one of these yet? I actually ordered it already so if I'm the first I guess I'll be the guinea pig! I'll post up some pictures, hopefully it'll go smoother than the last install.
I also took it to a local BMW tuner, Edge Motorworks, and had them do control arm bushings, tie rods, wheel bearings and a few other things. Once she's mechanically dialed in, and the interior is done, I think I might finally paint her. The paint has been faded since I got her 10 years ago and it's a lot worse now. Feels good to be back behind the wheel!
I ordered a carpet set with the highest level of sound deadening material and I hated it. It was all cut to fit and was a major pain to get perfect. It was from ACC if I remember right.

We haven't met but I have seen your posts as I search on the forum for self help info. Welcome back! I was just looking at their site yesterday. Looks like great fitted carpet. I am very curious of how it works out for you.

I put their kit (not one-piece molded) in my tii (since sold) and was less than impressed with the carpet. It isn't bad or out of line for the price point, but it isn't fooling anyone into thinking it is the oem carpet.

would like to know also need one for the rear shelf
The rear shelf is pretty easy to do yourself if you feel so motivated, since it's just flat

It shipped out yesterday, I'll post up pics as soon as it comes in and hopefully will be able to install it right away.

I got the carpet and have it laid out in my garage right now. My work schedule is intense so I don't have much mod time right now. Hoping to tackle it this Sunday!
Interested in seeing these and your review of them

Thanks!
It is my daughter after all.

I'd like to see it once it is installed. My carpet is faded and I'd rather replace it instead of spray painting it black.
I'm curious as well. I want to go from blue interior to all black.
I was under the impression from my e28 days that nothing really seemed to fit the e28. The closest that worked for the e28 actually laid on top of the old carpet.
I finally got the carpet installed! I didn't have the original carpet to use as a template, and I quickly realized that without that the job is nothing short of a nightmare. So after wrestling it in and out 3 times just to get the cutout for the e-brake, I decided to bring it to a pro instead. They did a great job and saved me from several hours of test fitting and possibly (probably) making a bad cut or two. I'll post pics up later today. The fit is not OEM quality but it's good enough for my standards. This is a driver's car afterall, not a show car.
Here are a few pics of the final product. The photos make it look almost brown but it's a charcoal black color in person. v3sR4zL7QFKkx1SfTxxPWw.jpg+D61EBNVQHu5Wdo10P2A+Q.jpg1VNS828ESs64AGu9jLi3Qw.jpg0ubi4AuDSoeVy+jQYTstGA.jpg
Unfortunate how the color comes out in the pictures. Looks sunbleached. The form looks good though. I regret having to take the carpet up out of my car to do the battery conversion and other welding stuffs. It definitely didnt fit as well after.

I would stick with esty, she makes 2002 carpets mostly, but offers E21 as well. Definitely looks OEM quality. http://www.estycarpet.com/
I’m not sure why but my experience with the Esty kit has been super disappointing. I installed that kit a few years ago and it never fit right, but worst of all it never stayed in place. I used several cans of 3M adhesive spray and it still wouldn’t stay put. I was constantly shifting pieces of carpet around to fix the gaps and straighten things out.
