I'm in Dusseldorf for work (until tomorrow, then on to Stuttgart) and the local guy asked if I wanted to go to lunch and run an errand with him.
The place he took me to is a combination vintage car mall (? - several dealerships operate out of this joint) and high-end car storage. There are shops that sell parts and tools for old cars (he has a vintage MG, an older Benz and a couple other cars and was picking up a part for the MG) as well as restaurants, places that sell car-enthusiast T-shirts, etc. It's a converted train-service shed and is jaw-dropping awesome:

I got more (and better) pix on my SLR, but probably won't get a chance to screw with them for a while - still haven't looked at the vacation pix from Italy/France yet.
But damn that place was cool. Watched a guy lower his Ford GT from storage and go for ride with his ~9 year old...
Hope I get a chance to come back - I would have spent a looong time there yesterday if I'd known that existed...
I'd say that's on topic just fine! Man what a great place, love those curvy Jags!

Great pictures of a great place. It's called Classic Remise. They have a similar facility in Berlin. Here's their link http://www.remise.de/Classic-Remise-Duesseldorf.php
A few years ago when in Dusseldorf on business I saw a brochure in my hotel, bicycled over from Neuss and spent some very happy hours there. That sunny spring Saturday, in addition to all the vehicle eye candy inside, there were gatherings of Harley owners and American muscle cars in the parking lot and a biergarten set up. It was a gearhead paradise. I've taken co-workers there a couple other times before I retired from airline flying, and it's a place I'll always remember with pleasure.
If you are ever in the Dusseldorf area, it's well worth a visit. As noted, even a good little restaurant so you don't have to wander off
2hrs South of ZWS via the A8 outside Munich is nice little shed in Buchloe..
I made it to the sister facility in Stuttgart. Pix coming, but I've got to get back on home soil...
