hello all I am very new here however I did follow the threads on this forum to do my swap. was wondering if anyone here could point me in the direction of a 540i megasquirt thread I am looking to run a pnp set up on megasquirt with a flexfuel module. my swap is currently running very good and I drive it daily. I am looking to squeeze more power out of my swap and want to run e85 becuase its a little bit cheaper than 93 but want to stay pnp to use as much factory stuff as possible.
I have my turbo b40 running on megasquirt ms3x. Only know of one other m6x on the boards running megasquirt. I'm using the stock harness with a jumper harness i built. I can share the pinout I put together. It may be slightly different. Are you using the b40 crank trigger or the b44 trigger on the flywheel?

Wish I could help, I run my M60 on Speeduino.
Speeduino still uses TunerStudio as the tuning software, right? all the settings in there would still be the same. Just wiring difference. Regardless...
@401michael here is the wiring pinout I made for my m60 ms3x install. The 'QS' columns are for the 2 quad spark modules needed to run sequential ignition with the factory coil packs.

Also, here is my build thread on the MS forums. May help you not make some of the smae mistakes I did... http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewto...?f=131&t=65902

My swap is using everything from the b40 only thing b44 is the bottom end so it has the b40 crank trigger and I am running a chip currently but want to make my swap flex fuel, but there are other things I wanted to take advantage of like I polished my intake and exhaust ports when I rebuilt my heads. I wanted to make a jumper harness for mine as well. the pinout seems really straighforward! I already have a some other things done to my swap like a 350lph fuel pump however its hardwired to the key so whenever I switch on the ignition the pump just goes I am going to sort that out though.

you guys miss anything about running the stock ecu? m60b44 almost up and running. can't decide whether to try and tune stock ecu or run speeduino or megasquirt. mainly concerned about idle. sway me that i won't miss sequential injection and spark lol
Dudmd does a chip for the m60b44 that apparently works pretty well. May be a good start point at least

Yes and no. When first installing and firing up aftermarket efi it takes alot of cold start tuning, idle tuning and...tuning. At least with O.E. efi engineers did it for you and you can modify the little things in the hex code to dial it in the way you want. But the benefits greatly out weigh the inconvenience of tuning from scratch

Mark D’Sylva and I will be working on a finely tuned chip for the M60B44...I do have a good amount of head work and other goodies, but it will be a great starting point for anyone wanting to run stock ecu and a good chip.

love this development with m60s! only reason i'm weary of this route is i have made some slight adjustments to cam timing, but i guess i just have to use it as a solid starting point and start immersing myself with the hex tuning if i want thaat much control over what i'm doing.
will keep my eyes peeled for this!!

huge swaying points. upon first few start ups my engine isn't exactly running completely smooth, and seeing as i'm using a 20+ yr old ignition system (that i hate and have always struggled to diagnose) piecing together a new ignition system would rule out of lot of potential problems in my head. i've been leaking oil into the plug valleys for a while, and replaces some coil boots, but i'm scared i've fried some coils, and don't wanna splurge for a whole new set of coils rn. would love to do some research and see what the aftermarket has to offer, what proven coils n stuff i can use alongside megasquirt.
any suggestions?

I am currently running that chip. Car idles good and pulls nicely. I am VERY satisfied with it but still want flex fuel.
What turbo are u running ?
A question I never asked. how does running megasquirt affect the driver information display on the dash? I have been busy getting other things for my car sorted but still want to run this engine management once I make a few tweaks to my swap and have it where I want it. mostly been getting parts at the moment.
