I'm having some issues with getting a radiator to fit into my 325i. I bought a brand new e36 318 radiator to put in there because it's a swap car and I thought it would make the cooling system allot easier with the resavor on the radiator in the drivers side. I go to put it in and it's not wide enough to fit in the plastic trays. is that normal? does the 318 have the plastic tray things (connect the the frame rail and the radiator sits ob6 at the bottom) that are different than the 325? I don't have a 318 handy to look. I thought they were all the same so I'm kind of lost on how to make it work

Different radiators...

+ good stuff
The M44 one in the US, is the same as the M40,M42,M43,M44,M50 and M52 one in Europe. It's probably the same as the one I have in my European 323i (originally French, 02/1997).

This is the radiator I recently bought and installed in my car (a month ago):

In my E36 it fits perfectly fine. Just a plug&play fit. Not sure if the US models have different mounts?
1997 E36 BMW 323i (European) 275k km (171k miles), with following small mods:
- Chip tuned DME (190HP/257Nm); 328i dual pipe exhaust (plug&play); Meyle HD control arms, Bilstein B4 shocks
- Fan delete mod: Stock 92C thermostat, 80/88C temp. switch, 80/20% water/coolant; INPA says temps 100% OK
- Throttle body coolant hose delete mod; Comprehensive ASC Delete option list; Solved: -30 additive adaptation values
Check the left bracket here, number 4 in the link below. It has a different p/n than the US M52 left bracket:
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=17_0958
The right bracket is the same and the rubbers are also the same..
Compare 3 and 4 in the 318i chart with 7 and 8 in the M50/M52 chart here: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=17_0960
So, I think if you buy number 4 bracket, p/n 17111723339, at the BMW dealer, then you'd be ready to install it..

Update:
I got the mount for the e36 318 driver's side radiator mount and it mounted up great!
Great! Thanks for letting us know!

Took longer than I thought to find out if you can upgrade a 318i rad to a 6cyl rad lol
As long as you get the driver's side mount bracket, you're good!
