I have a 2007 530xi Sport Wagon that is going to require $3600 dollars in repairs to replace the hydraulic pump in the lift gate, a fuel vent valve and the "down" button for the lift gate. The car has 125,000 miles. It's a very nice car, runs good handles great. Leather seats and lots of good options. Are there any opinions about weather it's worth it to spend that much to repair the car or just get rid of it. I have no idea what the car is worth.
Get two separate quotes for the valve and lift gate. Just the materials for the hydraulic pump should be over $2000.
PLEASE read my liftgate thread.

I have a feeling $5 worth of hydraulic fluid, and a $25 switch off ebay would take care of the liftgate issue. If you lived close enough, I would help you.
