Help...removed both batteries and closed the trunk

I'm hoping someone can save me from this.
I removed both batteries to replace and closed the trunk. Only to realize that my keys don't open the trunk. I'm familiar with the failsafe protocol for opening the trunk...insert key, turn, push, open. But keys dont turn the cylinder lock. I suspect locks were changed at some point.
Please tell me there's another way...

You can push the key slot on the trunk to open it while in the unlocked position. It is located near the license plate lights.

Adding power to a car with unattached battery terminals has the potential to cause a short.

    Hope this helps.

The OP couldn't turn the key - which is required for the emergency procedure - hence the need for another plan!

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, looks like my car had the locks replaced at some point because my keys didnt work in the trunk. I did however manage to open it by getting power to the terminals in the trunk.
