I've attempted to research and must be missing it due to the insane about of coding info on this site.
I may be swapping my LCM to a used lcm 3 for facelift update and want to ensure I can code it correctly.
Can DIS/GT1 code the vin and user information as well as relatively easily change the parameters?
Or will I need PA Soft.

From what I can gather, if you have the software and the scanner, it's fairly easy. I'm a noob at this coding crap too, and there's tons of info on here. I'm trying to fix the foglights on my E46, fuses and bulbs are good, bought a used LCM, but it made my rear fogs come on, and changed the rear driving lights to the upper 3rd, not the lower 3rd, weird. Is the software you are referring to a standard or BMW specific programmer?

To avoid Tamper Dot BMW Scanner to set the mileage and NCS Expert to Code your vehicles options.
So I can't code the options with bmw scanner as well I have bmw scanner just working on the dang drivers now. I have DIS but haven't tested it
You can Code options with BMW Scanner also.
Ok perfect NCS expert looked confusing. Now I just have to figure out drivers to make bmw scanner work does it work better on windows 10 or an xp virtual machine?
