¨Here´s an update on my previous thread about a buggered rear pneumatic shock absorber..dashboard warning said self levelling system inoperative, rear right hand side was down on the ground, it tried to pump back up when the car was unlocked, but was clearly leaking very badly.
As a temporary fix, to pass the MOT ( which it has) and until I get the new parts, I jacked up the car, removed the wheel, disconnected the air line, drilled 3 holes in the shock absorber and injected 4 tubes of silicon into it, then left it on stands for 3 days to let it dry, worked perfectly, runs level and no dashboard warning .
Only problem now is how to disconnect the air line in the boot from the top of the shock absorber as the plastic clip isn´t there...any ideas?
I just dealt with the same deal.... Replacing my air springs I mean. One air spring was missing the tabs. I ended up using two picks, working my way around the clip until it grabbed. A few spins and it nearly unscrewed. Needless to say. Thats what i used when i reinstalled. I'm wondering if anyone, with a 3d printer has made an attempt to make the clips?
Hi I had to replace air suspension and broke the black clip. Now I can put air line to air bag. Any ideas where I can get a new/used clip or rig it to hold?
I´m going to have the same problem when the new shocks go on, apparently you can´t get new clips, might end up just putting a clamp or something on it, or the usual ¨bit of wire¨
Im tempted to grab a clip from a junkyard, then run to Best Buy, to see what my options are for a 3D printer.
