Starting to work on my 2000 Z3 M and one of the first projects I'm going to tackle is the rubber guibo/center bearing. Knowing that it'll free up space in the shifter area what would be the parts to tackle? Or can everything be accessed from the top? I do want to change out everything that is susceptible to wear and tear.
Thanks!
Shifter bushings are worthwhile doing, according to this post:

Hi;
You might find my Shift Linkage and Driveshaft Giubo and Center Bearing pages helpful.
Also good info in here on giubo, center bearing and shifter:

Thanks for all the great info!
Good to know that it's doable with the driveshaft in place, just a pain! LOL!
I'd rather do it myself than pay the mechanic.
A few questions:
1. Should I use the "oval" bushings?
2. Will the Z3 1.9 shift rod 25117527252 work as a short shifter?
3. Are there any parts available worth upgrading to Delrin?
Thanks!
There's no such thing as a 'guibo'....it's giubo.
1. You will have to...the Z3's shifter shift support rod has oval bushings.
2. Probably not. If you want a short shifter, then I'd recommend the Rogue Engineering kit.
3. Only the shift support bushings.

I don't know. Do you think the 1.9 shifter is shorter than the M shifter? They do have different part numbers. UUC makes a short shifter kit for the M:

Thanks for the advice.
I'll probably stick with the stock shift rod.
A DSSR is always a good upgrade to shifter feel as well. Makes it tight and precise
