So I'm trying to order some wheel spacers for my 530i. I measured from the edge of the fender to the furthest pertruding part of the tire and I measured one inch or 25 mm. To me, that seems a little over kill. So I was wondering if anybody else has done this to there vehicle so I can hear some measurements of spacers. My car is on stock style 42s 17x8. I'm looking for the wheel to be flush with the fender. All help is appreciated.
Hi,
How low of a ride height will you/are you running?
Depending on that, the shape of the tyre sidewall/shoulders depending upon brand/model of tyre, then you'll be able to tell if you need/can use 3/5/7/9/10/12/15mm or larger spacers. Don't forget to order longer bolts as well if necessary. You'll also want to avoid the tyre rubbing against the wheel arch, so possibly you'll need to roll them for a little more clearance, or pull them for that clearance, again all depending on how low you'll be for the ride height.
Cheers, Dennis!
Hi WessJ, I just had my BMW 2003 525i (e39) done. I used TurnerMotorSport 15mm Hub Adapter/Spacer with Style 37 wheels from a BMW 2001 740i (e38). The wheel hub on the e39 is 74.1mm, while the wheel bore hole is 72.56mm. Using the TurnerMotorSport 15mm Hub Adapter/Spacer, I was able to achieve the stance I was looking for. I don't have pictures yet, can post them later.
