I've had the AFE Pro5R intake on my car for a while with a stock MAF and 3" Bimmerworld intake elbow (ASC delete) it fits with some cutting of the elbow to size. I'm in the process of adding the Porsche 3.5 MAF and I needed a new 3.5" intake boot as well. I also upgraded the upper and lower cooling hoses and radiator to Mishimoto.
Turner sells this as a kit, which should make this a simple plug and play situation. the only difference is the Stock boot vs ASC delete boot.
The issues are all along the intake path.
- The intake heat shield is pushing into the new upper rad hose, kinking it.
- The Porsche .803 MAF will not fit into the AFE 3.5" intake. It's bigger by about 1/16" - 1/8".
- The MAF fits into the intake elbow but then is too close to the heat shield by a few inches. I can take off some of the boot, but it tapers down to 3" pretty quickly, and the further back I go towards the throttle body, the MAF contacts the shock tower.
- Also where does the Turner HFM wiring harness bracket bolt to?
As I see it, I can do a couple things to solve my problems
Hose to heat shield
- Go back to the stock upper hose and see if that fits better.
- Alter the heat shield to accommodate the Mishimoto hose
- Run without a heat shield.
Intake tube to MAF
- Dremel out the intake tube to fit the MAF
- Heat the intake tube up and force the MAF into it, possibly melting the two together
- Let it sit in the sun for a few hours - Winner. Also put the MAF in the freezer for a minute
Intake boot length
- Leave as is and run without a heat shield
- Cut it and try to make the MAF fit it and along the shock tower

What was the solution to this? I’m having the same fitment issue with the Mishimoto boot and Bremi MAF.
