Hi all,
My name is Madhav, originally from Australia, now living in Thailand for the last few years. I drive a Mk6 golf GTI with a hybrid K04 but wanted to have a second car that I do not need to worry too much about if it gets dirty etc, but also something with a bit of power. So I picked up an E34 with a stock 1jzgte engine conversion. Cost was about $2k USD.
See some pics below. These are not my pics, just the person who sold me the car. I will take some better ones soon.
The total bill for the GT30 size single turbo setup and all related parts should be less than $1k USD. Aiming for about 400whp on E85. Pretty much everything is Chinese and sourced from ebay except the fuel pump and the ECU (HKS F-con)

Hi yes its ok for it's age and milage. It's a inexpensive '2nd car' project that should make decent power.
Only issue so far is what size intercooler to buy. Seems to be a bit of difficulty fitting a decent size intercooler? At this point I may just leave it up to the workshop to experiment with what size they can fit.
Prices for the single turbo upgrade so far (all parts new except HKS F-Con):
GT30 Turbo: $150
44mm wastegate: $56
840cc E85 safe injectors: $110
Aeroflow 340LPH E85 fuel pump: $88
Fuel pressure regulator: $35
Turbo blanket: $15
HKS F-Con: $290
Intercooler: (not yet purchased but approx prices appear to be $50-80)
Turbo manifold: (not yet purchased but approx prices appear to be $100-150)
Labour and associated metal fabrication: $250-300
Of course there is the tuning cost of about $230, but overall price is quite reasonable.
