My 2003 540i with sport and cold weather packages and 205k mi on the odometer has finally bit the dust. Specifically, the car overheats and burns off coolant (head gasket? cracked block?) and I知 ready to move on. I was originally planning to part out, but thought I would see if anyone is interested in the whole car first. If any interest, message me and I値l provide more details, pictures, etc.
Post up some pics, more details and price your asking, thanks
Photos attached. Mileage just short of 207k. Car currently on winter wheels (and spare tire). Rear M5 wheels need new tires. Front M5 wheels nearly new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports. All the problems that I can think of:
1. Car overheats after about 20 miles of highway driving because of coolant loss. I have not researched the reason for coolant loss; however, it does not appear to be leaking from coolant system (burning off?);
2. Rough cold weather cold starts;
3. Developing rust/cosmetically aging;
4. Front bumper damaged by raccoon strike (lost fog lamp);
5. Driver side window will not roll down completely;
6. Sunroof needs help when closing;
7. O2 sensors old;
8. Pixel loss on radio;
9. After market exhaust pipe post cat converter rusted through and lost;
10. Trunk jack broken.
I don’t have an asking price in mind, but think I could make a couple grand parting out. However, I’d prefer to keep the car in tact for anyone that wants to rrstore, or pick parts off of it as needed.

To be clear, the cats are still there, but the aftermarket tail pipe burnt through.
I didn’t really have an asking price to begin with, but to clear up the flood of PMs asking for a price, I’ll just throw it out there at $1500.
Did I say $1500? Certainly I meant to say $1200.
Sold.
