Hello y'all. I got a 2008 535xi N54 3.0 twin turbo BMW as my first ever car. This is a project car obviously it will need work. This here sounds like a truck, knocking, tapping you name it. I'm looking for folks who are experts at BMW. I just bought this and has been sitting since. Codes are generic I do not own a BMW scanner yet! P0012 P0015 P1554, and there was a misfire in cylinder 3. It also has a valve cover leak from what I saw. I have yet to find any research relating to my thunderstruck of a knock on any youtube or forum videos.
I have a facebook video I can link for the sounds (when I first looked at it) https://www.facebook.com/Air0h/videos/587275714979070/
thanks guys. Hope to have some good replies.

Hello and welcome to the forum! I would highly suggest that you invest in a BMW scan tool/code reader if this is going to be a project car. I'm attaching a link to a great tool that will allow you to do quite a few things, as well as a link to our site's DIY tech articles on the E60 platform - this should be helpful to you as all the articles have a step-by-step guide. Please let us know if you have any questions or if we can assist with any part needs in the future. Hope this helps and best of luck!
