Cheapest E39 Radio Head Unit Replacement

I have a 1997 528i and I can't connect my phone to my car to listen to my own music. I just want to be able to use my phone. I need the cheapest way to fix my problem. Would something like this work ? Could I somehow just wire in an aux port or do I have to buy a new headunit completely, thanks.

Take a look at the tutorial below - an aux port should be all that's needed.

Go aux port so long as DSP doesn't appear on your radio. I find FM transmitters have issues in areas with lots of radio stations.
