Dinan supercharged 740il part out

I am fairly new to this type of work but I think this would be the best way to get the most value out of this car and also preserve what is left of the dinan parts to the e38 community. I think i will let it sit in the garage as i part it out one by one. could be a coping mechanism and one last chance for me to say goodbye. IF there are any members in the Sacramento/Folsom area and needs parts let me know. Let me know what you are looking for as this car is in pretty good shape minus probably the engine head gasket and associated head gasket issues.

I'd like to see if there are any local bimmerforums members interested first as it is much easier and this car still drives great so its easy to mobilize. Ill keep a list of those interested in the parts and follow up as i eventually party it out to the point it is immobile. Keep the requests coming.

dinan supercharger, bigger injectors, relocated coolant reservoir, MAF sensor and cold air intake, I can also get the dinan carb sticker new from dinan proabably so its smog legal in cali. not sure if the engine and trans ecu can be transferable for 98

dinan exahaust

remus exhaust

18" m pars with sumitomo HTR A/S tires

750 brakes with carbotech ceramic brake pads and oem rotors

heated steering wheel and 2001 taillights from calypso red here

man, i'd still do everything i could to not part it out or sell it until i've exhausted everything. its a rare car first and then with the level of attachment of getting it back to a respectable level.

You are telling me? I was looking up if i can just buy arp/alienware head studs and replace the oem stretch bolts and call it a day... but i cant be unfair to my wife and child. Btw you got the hamann exhaust?

I'm a car guy... I've had many cars. Some junk to just thrash, come rare collectors cars. Since I've been here I've never seen so many people decide to keep their car after saying thay are going to sell it...

Says something about these cars......

updated on 1st post. at least the person im selling to is going to work on the car instead of parting it out. i told him to throw some ARP/raceware head studs and maybe VAC stage 1-2 heads and make it glorious. pass it forward

Car is sold! Remus exhaust back on market. 1st post updated.

Drove from sac to the bay (110 miles) and man was it fun still. Had a dodge charger going around the feeeway like a boss and i hung with him for a little till i remembered not to redline the engine. The curvy roads on 680, 24, 580 were a blast and definitely brought back memories of my trips to tahoe, yosemite and LA... ive gone through the stages of grief from denial, bargaining, to now acceptance. I am glad to have 4 years of relatively (major) trouble free dinan expeeience. Not too many can say that in their lifetime. I appreciate the bimmerforum e38.org and all the members for resources making this ownership special. I had the car washed one last time and said good bye to my mechanical baby
