2000 323i overheating still😤

Hi hopefully someone can help me. I have a 2000 323i. It started to overheating one day. Didn't do anything to it, and it didn't overheating again for probably 4 weeks later. It got so hot it blew a big crack down the reservoir. So I got a new one of those replaced it. Burped it. And still continues to overheat. I did however notice the aux fan only comes on with the AC on. It doesn't come on when the car is overheating. I am at lost. I do think my heater core is leaking. Not sure if that and the fan will cause that much of a difference. Please help.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Have you tried pulling any codes? Might be a good place to start troubleshooting.

One burp is NOT fully bled. Get the front up w/ramps or stands. Jack up the cabin heat control to max with the fan off. Loosen the bleeder screw. I usually reach in and goose the lower hose when bleeding to speed up the process. When the bleeder is pooting only fluid you should be good to close up and go driving. Do not make a long trip until you can be sure all the air is gone and the car is NOT overheating anymore.

Hold old / miles is / are on your coolant system? Over 80k? Time to replace all of it.
