Change Country Code in ZCS on import of E38 from Japan to U.K.?

I have a beautiful July 1996 740i with only 15,000 miles. I have fitted a US cluster showing mph and the odometer records in KM, which is ok as I am happy to do the conversion if needed. All Japan specified radio/satnav and monitor have gone and have been replaced by an Xtrons fit so that is ok. I do not have any faults or issues but wonder if there is any advantage in changing the country code within the ZCS and then recoding all modules? The alternative would be to leave things as they are and only code minor items to reflect my requirements from time to time. I would be grateful for the opinion of anyone with a deep knowledge of this subject. Many thanks.

I dont know anybody here who was brave enough to recode all modules. I was considering doing it, just to refresh all software but to me the risk of running into a complex issue is not worth it. Make sure that your battery is on charger if doing it, could drain the battery and kill your car if process stopped midway. I have read somewhere that it could take more than 10 hours.

If you are comfortable with NCS, it is easy to recode the ZCS. You just need to know what numbers to change from Japan to UK. It may throw errors when trying, though, if it expects a message from the radio for example, but doesn't get one because it's been removed.
