Just out of interest (I live in Spain), just to get a feeling of the E36 market is in the US, I stumbled upon this Dinan Supercharged M3:
https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=481626137&zip=11222 &referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D11222%26startYe ar%3D1991%26sortBy%3DderivedpriceASC%26incremental %3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0%26endYear%3D1998%26modelC odeList%3D328I%252CM3%26makeCodeList%3DBMW%26searc hRadius%3D500&startYear=1991&numRecords=25&firstRe cord=0&endYear=1998&modelCodeList=328I%2CM3&makeCo deList=BMW&searchRadius=500&makeCode1=BMW&modelCod e1=M3
(at least I think I see a supercharger there)..
It's a bit rusty here and there (especially check out the bottom/sides, and remove the plastic parts to look below).. Not sure how many horses/torque this supercharged M3 produces?

1997 E36 BMW 323i (European) 275k km (171k miles), with following small mods:
- Chip tuned DME (190HP/257Nm); 328i dual pipe exhaust (plug&play); Meyle HD control arms, Bilstein B4 shocks
- Fan delete mod: Stock 92C thermostat, 80/88C temp. switch, 80/20% water/coolant; INPA says temps 100% OK
- Throttle body coolant hose delete mod; Comprehensive ASC Delete option list; Solved: -30 additive adaptation values
I would say it is a lot rusty, I would hate to see under those side skirts.
The mechanicals are interesting, but a sedan with sport seats and luxury package. I would bet it would take quite a bit of money to bring the body back, and no telling what is underneath the car.
Maybe would be nearly worth it to buy and swap the mechanicals if they were top notch with no issues. A bit pricey for that though.
