SOLD This 99 740i Sport, according to a friend of mine with BMW, was initially a BMW executives car.
The second owner purchased it from a dealer near Washington D.C. She was a physician who practiced in Ocean City, MD, near wear I grew up on the Eastern Shore of MD. She owned it for several years. The third owner was a family friend who retired to Florida a few years ago. Having expressed interest in it prior to her move, she reached out to me over the winter to see if I was still interested. I was. I shipped it up from Sarasota and began a mechanical and cosmetic restoration of it, It only had 89.5k miles on it when it arrived and she only drove it about 3k miles in the three years prior.

It's $7K overpriced.
If it had a new tranny it's still waaaay overpriced.
Are you on drugs? Do you see the amount of work thats been done? It gets tiresome explaining to people like you who don't understand where value is in a car that is already tough to find in this condition without the $5,500 in recent work. A new gearbox? On a 90k mile 7? If you can only afford a beater 7, there are plenty of them out there. Have at it..
Beautiful car. If available in 3 months, I'd be down. Not ready today
Doing repairs to a 19 year old car does not warrant you to price it the amount of cost you invested in it. If there were some Dinan parts or something special then maybe some premium is warranted. If someone pays you that much they should get their head checked. You will never sell it at that price. Value is $5k - $6k maybe. Good Luck.
I sold my e38 with 4x the amount of work basically show room condion with completely 750 interior including dash, 3.15, sport shifter, dinan tune, dinan throttle body, 750 brakes, sport seats, new headliner, chains guides water pump alt ect. I probably had $10k into it.... I got $4k for the the car. Don’t get me wrong you have a beautiful car ! And 6 years ago you’d get your asking price but at this time your price is the “I don’t wanna sell it price” IMO keep the car and enjoy it your never going to get what it’s worth.
Me E30 87/ 325i + F25 12/ M-Sport + E32 94/ 740i
G/F’s E34 92/ 525iT + F48 18/ X1
At this point, I wish I had $11k laying around to buy this car just to spite some of you bums. I could never understand the point of people bashing on an asking price. He has a thing, there's a number he wants in exchange for the thing, if you're not buying the thing then your input is useless. Simply stfu and move along.
"The value of a car is whatever the buyer is willing to pay for it."

It's incredibly hard to find a well put-together E38 sporty shorty these days. If the thing is solid and clean, I don't see an issue with this price. If you want to pay for a run of the mill example, find a run of the mill example.
Wow very nice! Much nicer than the one I am selling. I bet you will find someone to pay close to $11k for it, if not here then maybe try BAT?
Watching this one closely... just picked up a one-owner 99 with 98k miles, immaculate... actually still waiting for it to be delivered!
