Just noticed recently that the passenger footwell vent under the front seat is blowing hot air when everything else is cool aircon. Does this sound like stuck heater valves? Changing settings on the console makes no difference.
maybe a mixing flap is not working, example for another outlet http://bmwe32.masscom.net/johan/cent...ts_v1.1-1.html

I was thinking this but I'm not sure if it a flap. I hav now noticed that the air does come out cool under the passenger seat until the car has heated up. The passenger side flap on the centre dash vent is broken but this only blocks the passenger side face vents.
In case you have a diagnosis software, the IHKA can be diagnosed. Maybe you ask on the U.K. forum if someone with a laptop and suitable software for an E32 lives nearby you in the U.K. http://the7seriesregister.co.uk/forums/index.php?
also check the heater valves, maybe one side is not closing and lets hot coolant into the heat exchanger, but in that case on that side it should come out warm in all the places.

I have got the software and several cables but haven't managed to get it running on the 7 yet. Yesterday I lost aircon and power steering. Found the air con belt wrapped around the compressor so need to investigate to see what caused it.
The air is very hot where circled in the passenger side footwell also the rod had detached. I noticed the central passenger face vent getting warm when I manually closed the foot vent. Need to watch a few heater valve refurb videos now I guess

When the drivers-side temperature wheel is set to the lowest setting (16C past the 'click') then both heater valves should be closed - if you are still getting any heat then the heater valves have failed and need replacing/reworking

I finally got round to changing the heater valve the other day, all good now. Noticed that the aux water pump isn't working either but I'm not prepared to spend £240 Ina new one just yet.
you can eliminate the aux water pump cpl., remove the hose from inlet aux water pump and connect it directly to inlet water valves.
Aux water pump does not work always, only when heater is on + coolant temp must have reached about 30 degree C.

Fitted a new heater valve which has eliminated the unwanted hot air in the Cabin. Old valve seals were gone.
Where is this located?
@Bmed375: looks like you do not own an E32, on the E32 the heater valve is here http://bmwe32.masscom.net/johan/wate...tervalves.html
