Trunk find: Rainbow Beat 2 amplifier (and wiring)

Hi, here's what i found today when vacuumcleaning my trunk (for the first time since I bought my 740i). I don't know what it's worth, but... it don't look very safe to me.

Pls. see the third picture. Can I just unbolt the nut or do i have to disconnect the powersource (never done this before).

Why does this not look safe to you? Looks fine.

You can just undo the nut, remove the two wires going the Amp, and put the nut back on. Are you sure this wasn't driving your speakers?

Hi Serge, was thinking because of the loose wiring on the boot of the trunk (short circuit risk). Anyhow, I will unbolt the nut.

I don't think it was driving my speakers, the radio kept on playing normally while I was detaching the Rainbow. I did not yet figure out where the speakerwire is going (or where the mediaplayers had been installed).

Anyhow. What is that orange thing in the plastic cap? Are those fuses??

    regards, Sopado

I would always disconnect the battery before doing electrical work like this.
