No start issue

Hi I’m having serious issues with my 328i 2009 I jus brought the car and have not drove the car 200 miles.,and the car won’t start the codes read valvetronic motor sluggish movement I got the valve cover fixed brand new I got a oil change,solenoids,Valvetronic motor eccentric shaft sensor and the car still won’t start the mechanic said the timing is off and I need a timing chain but I been doing some research and was reading about the crank shaft sensor?? Can this be the problem?? Need help
