LMF’ingA OFF!!! You go boi... enjoy how great your car goes, too bad your a$$ is cooking in this here summer heat... What are you at now? Medium rare? Keep rigging that thing up the way you’ve been doing, pretty soon, it’ll catch fire, then your sorry butt’ll be well done... Enjoy!

The A/c works still and it works great actually, i have a 95c thermo and the coolant temp never goes past 103 with the A/c on and no aux fan. The aux fan would keep it a few degrees cooler only. The only thing i have "rigged" is that one wire as a test, I wouldnt have done so if i had my question answered sooner. I asked for days about doing this and got no responses. I have owned many 540i's throughout the years and know these car VERY well. So, if you are not here to make a positive comment or try to help ,then do us all a favor and do not comment on here. Have a good night.

You know these cars very well.... You’re a mechanic, as you have claimed on another fiasco of a thread... Whatever... Keep rigging that car, see where it gets you. Have fun...

Be nice boys.
Sounds to me like you have a wiring harness short somewhere.

I'd use an ohm meter to find the shorted wire. If there are more hacks they need to be removed.

So you have no high speed resistor, an extra manual toggle switch, and a hacked up fan.
Put it all back to stock, replace the fuses and relays, and check the wiring harness for shorts before you do that.
If your car burns to the ground... well, it wasn't BMW's fault.

no this is a show car, and the ac has always worked great, was missing the high speed resistor when i bought the car. There was never a hack or a manual switch ,that was a test i was performing. Everything on the car is immaculate and stock. all of the relays are fine and all of the fuses are good. I need help at this point to find the short. I suspect it is between F7 and the low speed relay according to Jim's advice.

Jim i tested. Key on posituon 2 and fan un plugged (or else fuse 7 blows) I tested wire in terminal 85(black/red) to chassis ground and got a reading of like 7.68? Set the meter to ohms lowest setting too . Then tested the terminal 87 wire (black/ brown ) and got no reading , then tested the black /brown wire in the unplugged side of the connecter at the aux fan and got no reading . Should I have plugged in fan during this whole thing ? should I have tested the black / blue wire at the high resistor ?

The reading of 7.68? I'm confused,
what specific readings are you seeking?

The reason I ask is; how can you be attempting resistance readings,Jim i tested. Key on posituon 2 and fan un plugged (or else fuse 7 blows) I tested wire in terminal 85(black/red) to chassis ground and got a reading of like 7.68? Set the meter to ohms lowest setting too .
while powering up the electrical system on position 2?
