    Fuel sender wiring help

Working to repair the fuel sender wiring I've noticed that the wires to the driver side fuel sender are not the same as those coming from the harness in the trunk. Just to confirm the wiring diagram, the wire going from fuel sender 1 to fuel sender 2 is not part of the harness in the trunk? From page 452 in the wiring diagram which I cannot past to this page.

This means I have to connect not only to the harness coming through the trunk but also to the passenger side fuel sender as well?

The ETK isn't much help as it doesn't show any splices in the fuel sender circuit - but this might help a bit:

As I recall the buss system doesn't use the same positive- negative , delivery return that most are familiar with. I'm guessing that the common feeds both and the positive moves through the system?

The left and right senders are wired in series. The EKM reads the values from both. The wires in the trunk are from the speed sensor, which shares the ground with the fuel level sensors. Download the Electricsl wiring fiagram from www.wuffer.ca and you will see how they are connected.

Yes, shared ground. Where does it go from the sender, not through the trunk? Can I ground anywhere or does it need to complete the circuit to avoid a fault?

It connects with the speed sensor ground at the splice connection behind the left rear door panel.
