Strut housing

This is what I was working with.. ended up air hammering the cap off.

It's done. There are a lot of vendors on ebaymotors with used parts in reasonable shape. If that is as rusty as it looks, you should take a very close look at everything else under the car for rust. At some point its beyond fixing. I had some floor board rust as a result of sunroof leaks, but the structure of the car was fine.

In my 7 years of IX ownership, I've replaced the front strut housings twice because of rust. Its difficult to avoid rusting with our salted winter roads here in the northeast.

Thanks guys. Surprisingly the car is fairly rust free. What I’m finding is everything on the car is original... i ordered both off eBay today. $950 sucks to spend but it needed it.
