I had a 2000 E39 528iA Sport. Good car but felt too big for me handling-wise. Sold it and got a 1998 M3 sedan with 5-speed. Full track suspension so it handles great. It's cosmos black (my E39 was jet black) and I bought clear markers, front corner, and rear tail lights (as I had for the E39). Supposed to be Depo but turned out to be some other off brand. Side markers were junk. Installed the tails and of course I get the tail light malfunction warning in the OBC.
So the weird part is that everything seems to work in the back (turn signals, brakes, reverse) but there are two tail light/parking light bulbs. One on the corner and one in the middle. The corner illuminates but the center does not. The corner is similar to an 1156 in size and the middle one is much smaller. I never really looked at the back of the car at night with the lights on so are both parking lights supposed to be on? I have to remove the clears and reinstall the OEM lights to see but I thought I'd check here.
I've done bfc and Google searches on clear tails and the trouble codes associated with aftermarket lights. Mine did come with instructions on how to modify the lights to disable the check function.
Thanks.
