    Loose Windshield Wipers

My windshield wipers are loose at the base and move around too much to even use them on the fast mode.

Do I just need to replace left and right #19 in this diagram or are there other parts that need to be replaced?

    Get the rubber grommets #20.
They rot and go away over time.
Not cheap at $25/each but essential.
    They'll last another 35 yrs.

Thanks. $50 is cheap for fixing a safety hazard.

Post pictures of them when they arrive with measurements. I want to see if I can find a cheaper alternative.

I forgot to measure the new grommets, but once installed they stopped my wipers from sliding around.

Interestingly, I didn't find any worn out #20 grommets on my car, pieces of them in the wiper/blow motor area, or even a trace of them ever being installed. I wonder if these were just added to later cars since my wipers seemed to work fine without them for a year or two.

#19 sort of cone-shaped, #20 is like your regular average grommet but harder than regular rubber.. I think I have an extra set I can measure and photograph.
