    Purchase Help!

Hello all I’m interested in buying a fully specced out euro spec 1997 735iL with the 5 speed and I was just wondering what should I look out for and is reliability good on these motors? Thanks in advance.
P.S. if there’s a link to a guide just help a newbie out and link it to me as I couldn’t really find any myself.

Search E38 timing chain guides, cooling system failure, dead LED's, CCV, and glove box latch lol. Those are the big things I can think of.

That + find out when or if the timing chain guides were replaced, BUT I do not know if this affected the 3.5l variant of the M62 engine as it plagued every 4.4l M62.

Good suggestion. But don’t let the negs keep you from one of the greatest driving experiences. Keep in mind that the E38 Forum has 7X the membership of the next BMW model forum. And for the simple reason that they drive so well.

That's a great thread! But of course there is only one thing to check: is the glovebox working??

Yeah, it's NOT because they have so many issues, are falling apart and everyone needs help keeping them running.....

Just kidding, these are the greatest cars I've owned to date. I love mine, I'm just sad it took so long for me to be able to afford one!!! LOL
