My daughter managed to have the car locked and then lock her keys in the trunk. She had a locksmith manually unlock the driver's door.
However, being that the electronic part of the car was still locked, the trunk button and the console unlock button would not work. Keys were still locked in the trunk.
I searched for a solution. Nothing.
Then I realized if I would take off the key part of the exterior door handle, I could then turn the unlocking mechanism with a blade screwdriver
and the electronics would unlock. Took 5 minutes!
Note: To remove the door handle lock, open the door, flip up the rubber flap and it exposes the torx screw. Remove the screw and wiggle the lock out.
I’m guessing she doesn’t have a ski pass...
If I were to give my Touring a first name, I'd probably name it "Alan".
Mostly because I like puns.

I'll ask - why didn't she have the locksmith open the trunk?
So is the cat now COMPLETELY out of the bag - is your procedure all one has to do to enter the car?
And +1 on All2kool above, why not open the trunk rather than the door?
