Hey guy I just bought a 1993 525it. I had it shipped from Washington to la. It failed smog the other day and we found some vacuum leaks. Its getting fixed right now. Do you think this will help with the smog? it failed by 23 hydro carbon at 1800 rpm. Also, car isnt in perfect condition but ive fixed some things like the armrest, and i soldered the wires in the hatch to fix the back window yesterday. Other than that can you give me some specific things to do to the car? I know it needs a polish but I dont have one.
Ps. the stance is because of how im parked, the stance is oem grandma mobile and it rides like a legitimate cloud

Welcome! You'd get more responses posting in the main E34 board than the OT section.
Vacuum leaks will definitely influence smog results.
There are lots of things to do on these. Check out bmwe34.net and the FAQ in our subforum, and get readin'! General protocol is: got a question, do a forum Search and maybe a Google/Yahoo/Whatever search. If after ~15 minutes you find absolutely nothing, or after ~30 find not quite enough info, post a thread and expect a meaningful response within a day or two. We're rather more civilized than certain other fora which shall remain nameless (except Pirate4x4; I openly mock the douchebags on there).
That is one goofy stance mmhmm.
Actually, that rear suspension is *collapsed*. If it sits anywhere near that on level ground, I bet yours has SLS (self-leveling suspension) that has failed. Is there a bunch of goopy crud at the rear shocks?

Iirc 92 and 93 525 had sls.
If I were to give my Touring a first name, I'd probably name it "Alan".
Mostly because I like puns.

I bought a 93 525it last year and it had the same stupid stance when not running. The SLS was losing pressure without the engine running though it would level off with the engine on. I found a 525i at the wrecking yard and pulled the rear shocks and springs and removed all the stupid SLS stuff. It still had that stance until I cut a coil from the front springs and it sits pretty good now.
Interior looks clean on yours. I've found that is the biggest hurdle here in Texas because these cars did not hold up well from the Texas sun and finding clean replacement parts is near impossible.
Ooooo red wagon!!! GIMME
Also seats are leather
I own mostly junk. Except the Porsche, that's kind of cool.
All the motorcycles are trash which you can read about at
