1980 BMW 320i Sport Model $5,650 firm - If you are into DIY body work and paint then this could be the car for you, drive it through the week and sand it on Saturday.
This is an original sport model with all the original sport up grades and two way operation sun roof that we have owned since 1989. Car has sat un-driven for the last 2.5 years as it had a bad head gasket. Now has different block and head. Bring pickup truck for original cloth rear seat and other extra parts?
Just passed smog 6/8/2018 registration good till April of 2019. Car starts well hot or cold and runs smooth and quiet down the highway and around town. Will need head re-torqued in about 575 miles or so. Depending on the miles I put no it before it sales.
I have done a lot of work preparing this car for sale - I have pictures of more of the work.
I have listed as much as I can think of -

*Headliner is shrinking away from roof
*Heat core needs replacing – leaks inside car
*Have original Blaupunkt radio/cassette but out of car

with my limited knowledge on e21s (still learning), i feel like you're pricing is pretty spot on for a tastefully modified and structurally sound car. I believe the only thing that will turn people off is the "BAD" of the car. the good is really good, but the bad is a bit more than the average wrencher would want to undertake. That being said, I feel like its a great buy, and anyone who would entertain the idea of owning it would never be disappointed... until it gets into the 90s 100s in SD, like i know it can!
Good luck, Daryl, its a great car!

Thanks Morty and Randy.
It is defiantly a project car as far as the body work goes, and I have done body work in the past - track car for one - and total paint jobs. But the chassis / unibody is in good condition most of the damage is do to the sun. But for now it is time to down size and think about the next 10 years and where we want to live.
Morty do you go to BMWCCA San Diego events?

This is the last year at Qualcomm as the city is going to decommission it. Most likely put up more condos or something.
