History:


If you are reading this ad, you pretty much know what this car is. I've enjoyed this one and now its time for it's new owner, I need something a little more practical. Over all this one is in nice condition, not perfect but in nice condition. It has been garage kept since I have owned it.


This car needs someone that can offer it the nit picky attention to detail I can no longer offer it.


Let’s start with known issues:


1) There are a couple chips in the windshield, as I thought about replacing it, a second chip appeared and then a third. I decided to keep the original and have someone do the instant repair trick. Never got around to it.
2) The SES light is on for secondary air. I am finding out now, that was a pretty easy fix and my current repair shop should be ...well never mind. I will say I am disappointed to have driven around with that light on for so long.
3) The GPS screen is missing pixels but still works and is readable
4) The rearview mirror glass is cloudy
5) There is an intermittent error where the traction control light, ABS and brake light comes on and the speedometer quits working. If you turn the car off for 20 seconds it resets and works fine. When I had the car in for service they couldn’t get it to do it so, it still pops up every now that then. Further research leads me to believe this isn’t a big deal either, probably a bad sensor.


The good:
1) I have kept this baby in a garage for the almost six years I have had it, so apart from one rock chip that needs to be fixed on the front of the hood, the paint is in great shape and I don’t see any rust anywhere.


2) It’s been a daily driver for me. The engine runs great and it feels great driving everywhere.


3) The interior is in great shape, no tears or hole anywhere.


I honesty think the parts for these cars are fairly reasonable. I just have lost confidence in my local repair shop, I feel they are way over billing me on labor hours and rates. I know some may argue but the same shop that just charged me $160 to polish the head lights on my Toyota truck so it would pass inspection charged me $140 to polish the same head lights 2 years ago for the same reason. They just polished their last headlight from me, even though it IS a three stage process….


I think I listed this for a fair and reasonable price but if not feel free to make me a reasonable offer. I am not that hung up on price, I would prefer to get this car in the right hands so it can continue to be enjoyed. Someone that has a good reputable shop with BMW M5 experience or someone that likes tinkering on cars. I watched several good youtube video on replacing the sensors listed above. I think someone with a good code reader and decent mechanic skills could sort those errors out. This is the perfect car to buy to enjoy driving it, it looks great at a cars and coffee.
