    Drilling out steering lock?

I've looked through many many threads and cant figure this out. The steering lock on my 1986 e30 wont unlock, and I cant turn the ignition. I've tried jiggling the wheel, turning it, etc. And I cant remove the ignition barrel since I cant take the wheel off. From what I've read, it looks like the only solution I have is to drill the steering lock out, but I cant find anything that explains it well. Has anyone done this before and can show me exactly where to drill or find a different solution?

You may be able to save the lock cylinder; I suspect it is either something that broke inside or your key has worn to the point where the lock cylinder won't accept it. or both the lock cylinder and key are worn.
