I have a 2008 BMW 328XI with a N51 engine. The inside Disa valve on the inside part of the intake needs to be replaced. I know the screws for the inside Disa valve is on the throttle body side. My question is do you have to remove the outer Disa valve in order to get to the inner Disa valve screws to remove it? Any assistance or short cuts will be appreciated.
At 150k, the DISA valve broke inside the intake manifold (2008, 328i, same engine as yours). There were loose parts inside the manifold. In order to remove the loose parts, the manifold needs to come out. I replaced both valves at a hefty price. How did I notice the broken valve? The starter went out and the manifold had to come off. I was surprised to hear rattling noises coming from the manifold.
