Good runs, 2nd race seemed more representative of what I expect would happen more consistently, looked like you might've jumped a hair on the first one.
Looks like the S52 is making more torque, you pull ahead on the hit each time and then maintain your spot. Pretty impressive considering you also have the taller diff.

well power to weight my car has the advantage
The difference taking the hit makes!
Nice races, I'm assuming you have a passenger too?
What gearing did the euro have, and is it a properly maintained example?

no rear seats and brides upfront for me. he had a passenger but still, onlyway he would pass me is when i run out of gears
sick! i always wondered what i would have done with stock euro motor car. sedan FTMFW!! i know your car should be close to 28XX lbs which helps!

I think the second run shows the camera car is definitely the faster car, it just seems to lose steam on the shifts....I wanna say the winner here is really because of the driver, even from a roll it matters.

Custom ring gear? Never heard of a 3.51 in 212, 210, 188 or 168 rings.. If custom ring gear, PM ME! I'll give you free diff parts. Good ones, too. You're right with each other. He'd beat you like little orphan annie, if he were running a six speed and a 3.51 with an S50b32 to your 3.38 paired to an S52. The six speed is irrelevant to the gearing matter. The only difference is sixth is an over drive gear (.82), compared to the USM ZFs. Euro Ms with S50b32s and manual transmission ran 3.23 210mm ring gears. No ring gear comes to mind in the 3.5x range, actually.
He'd have more power AND shorter gears than you. Your car would be quicker with a 3.51, if it existed, right? It looks like he has a 3.15 or 3.07, based on the way you are hanging together. Probably a 3.15 if he has a full interior and a passenger.

not sure whats the dea with his diff buts its a 3.51 lol but yea he had full interior and passenger. im nearly gutted, his car will only pass me once i run out of gears. i bought slicks so we will try this again from a first gear and from a dig
It's not a 3.51. If it were a 3.51, the above video would mean that his S50b32 is making less power than you, even with a 4-5% increase in torque he gets from running a 3.51 to your 3.38. That and BMW nor ZF ever supplied a 3.51 for any bmw diff case.
You take the same car. Yours is a little lighter, but you have longer gears and less power. He's running a 3.15. Ask him what he runs for speed at 3k in fifth. Otherwise, you have a super E36. It can beat euro dual vanos M3s with shorter gear ratios. It's ass-backwards lol.
it def doesnt have the 3:15 gears in it, gearing would be way to long...
