Hello all.
I'm thinking of selling my 2001 M5 with a full Dinan S2 package.
I've never sold a relatively rare or exotic car before, which any M5 is, and even more so one that's had the Dinan upgrades (Dinan wheels, Air Intake, Exhaust, Chip, Short-throw shifter, Clutch, Brake cooling inlets, Suspension upgrades, Sway bars, etc.)
I've owned it since 2005 and know the original owner well. It has 74,000 miles. It's in perfect mechanical condition and excellent cosmetic condition (some small paint chips on the hood). I have all the service records which show excellent maintenance.
It has a very dark metallic blue exterior, with black leather interior. It had the Mk III navigation system upgraded to a Mk IV in 2004.
I don't really know how one sells a car like this. It seems a bad idea to just list it on my local Craigslist (San Francisco Bay Area) when there's probably some enthusiast somewhere in the country who would really want this car and would never see it listed for sale.
Also I don't know how to price it. It's worth more than a regular (non-Dinan) M5 with similar miles, but how much more?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hello and welcome to the forum! A car like this deserves to be seen by the masses - I would suggest getting it fully sorted if it need anything and then listing it on Bring A Trailer. I would also reach out to a shop in LA called Avus Autosport - they are one of the few licensed Dinan shops and will likely have some input as well. Best of luck and lets see some photos man!

sorry. meant to type 30's
Did you ever sell the S2?
I second the Bring a Trailer route...more M5s trade there than any other vehicle, so most potential buyers are educated on their search. GLWS!
