Hello all, So I recently bought a 1994 E36 318 with a T4 Turbo. The guy needed money and made me an offer I couldn't refuse but now I am kinda in over my head and need a sense of direction. From the research I've done I haven't really found much to help so any kind of help would be appreciated. It has all stock internals and no tune and factory injectors. When I am making boost it stops revving at 4k rpms and starts popping, almost like its not getting any fuel. I know I need injectors and a tune but what size and do I need a dyno tune or an E tune? Also today I was driving it with no boost and it cut off going up a hill, my first thought was fuel pump. Any help is greatly appreciated? I know nothing about tuning or turbos so this is a learning experience for me. Had the guy not offered it so cheap I never would have bought it.
Everything for the 4 cyl engines will be custom. Very few have experience with them here.
That's what I'm afraid of. I don't want to take it to a shop because I want to understand how everything works.
Well, you'll need some sort of aftermarket ecu. Megasquirt... AEM... etc. for tuning. Or find someone that can use the stock one. You WILL need a new MAF and injectors also based on what your tuner wants to use or your self if you are tuning. Thats honestly about it since the car is already "turboed".
I was running about 8 Psi about what size injectors would be best?
How much did you get the car for? Running the car to 8psi without all the esentials can not be good. Maybe verify the motor is still good before anything else.
