Stiff steering and hissing sound 2006 325Ci

Not sure if it is a concern or an indication of something that's going to get worse but my 2006 325Ci steering is stiff when at a stand still or when idling, steering returns to normal after you start moving. Also I can hear a hissing sound when I turn the wheel to the left but not when I turn to the right. Anybody experience this yet or has a clue what the issue is?

Have you tried inspecting connections/hoses,
in addition to fluid level in reservoir?
