Does a free Sirius subscription transfer when the radio is replaced?

2018 340i GT radio module died and dealership replaced but Sirius will not continue the free year saying it is tied to the radio serial #. Siruis will not budge and the dealership shrugs and says, "That's Sirius."

I think this is ridiculous that a dealership replacement wouldn't transfer the subscription; it isn't like he went out and bought an aftermarket radio.

I hate to say it, but that really is on Sirius. I'd escalate things with Sirius. I think a simple fax of a repair order showing the radio was replaced would be all it would take.
