Running wires through the firewall (passenger side)

I am attempting to run wires through my firewall for my gauges. Pulled up the fuse box (driver side) and checked out the clearance and there is no way that I will be able to fit what I need through that cluster of wires. So I checked out the passenger side like most people do. I pulled my glove box and pulled up the carpet and found where I would be running my wires, but I am curious as to how I should go about this. I have included some pictures for reference.

So the grommet has a large wire and a smaller wire running through it. I figured that I could peel back where the wires first enter the grommet but that is a no go. Do you guys just cut the grommet a bit to make room? Just curious because I don't want to tear into it if I don't have to but I don't think I have a choice and I don't want to potentially open that spot up to the elements either.

you don't need to tear into it. Just stick wires through one by one. I taped a wire to an awl and stuck it through.

This! It is incredibly easy to get wires through there, just push them through and don't lose any sleep. I taped to mine to a clothes hanger.

That little grommet holding the two wires (abs and side marker wires) has revisions for two more wires to be ran through. If you pop it off threw the engine compartment you'll see what I mean. Space is tight down there unless you've sawzalld the SAP pump brackets off.

Saw that grommet but I think it might be too small for my gauge wires.

I taped my wires to the blade of a Phillips head screwdriver and easily pushed it through. Unless you're trying to shove 00 welding cable through there the stock passenger side grommet will handle your needs.

There should also be a grommet about 10-12mm diameter in the ECU compartment behind the ECU. Not used for anything, just plugs a hole through the firewall above the stack and behind the glovebox.

Great, ran my lines through and what a pain it was. I've done several audio installs and never ran into a more difficult grommet to work with :/ Thanks for the help!
