Exclamation Having Hard time changing my Xenon Low beam bulb , please help

    Hello ,

I have a question if you guys don't mind,

My Xenon low beam bulb went out on the passenger side of my 2002 325i (E46) I watched some videos of how to change it , since this is my first time doing so.
Most of the online videos shows the housing of the bulb have a soft rubber cover covering it. but in my car i have a hard plastic cover that i spent long time trying to get it out but i couldn't , even though it is moving all around and rotating a bit but i am not able to pull it off. also it is pretty tight space for it to come out. does this problem make any sense to you ? is there a trick to get the cover out ?
also a side question . which kinda of xenon bulb do you guys recommend for me to get ?

    here are some pictures.

Thank you for your help .

    Best,

    Eyad

    Pelican Parts,

Thanks for your answer, and yes this is how my bulb cover looks like , i followed what the figure says, by pushing and pulling up , but i can't get it out. if I pull it up it hits the bulb ignition unit if i pull outward from the assembly it hits the cable behind it and the washer fluid tank.

I am not sure how to proceed .

You need to slide the whole headlight assembly out about 1/2" to an inch. There isn't enough room to put the cover back on even if you manage to wiggle it out without touching entire assembly.
I would suggest Philips or Osram bulbs, a pair would run you ~$100, but it is going to be a quality product unlike some other cheap stuff.
