I started getting a low oil pressure for a split second every six weeks. Then one night while on the highway it started to misfire. (Had towed to my friends bmw shop, he has 30 years experience e38 and older bmws) I replaced the oil pressure sensor, both intake cam sensors on both banks, two Variable Timing Solenoids on bank two, crank sensor, pulled the valve cover on bank two to see if anything was visible and to and to see if chains were tight. Two oil check valves in the bank two head, Replaced alternator bracket gasket. And after all that I switched all the timing parts that I have not replaced to bank one. After all that it still gave me the same codes, after reseting the computer with auto lodgic. Codes are, “P0346 camshaft position sensor range performance”. “P0021 camshaft a position timing over advanced or system performance bank 2”
Other codes are just multiple misfires on bank 2.
Oil is changed regular with Mobil one synthetic.
Cars still starts right up and once played with a little moves around. My friend that has the bmw shop says itÂ’s not the chains. Any ideas.
Thank you
Time to physically check the timing with the BMW timing tools.
