    Anyone running OS Giken differential?

I have a DiffsOnline 4-clutch diff, with the fancy 35/60 ramps etc... I feel like it's a little too aggressive for me; I know it's winning all over the country, it's just me.

Anyone out there actually running an OS Giken?

I know urban knowledge says they're "bad" for an E36 - I'm asking if anyone out there has actual experience with one.

I had one on my miata and loved it, that is to say, I didn't have any wheelspin (I don't now) and I don't notice any diff-created push (I do now).

    Thanks in advance,

Guess I'm the guinea pig. I'll report back after my first event with the thing.

I'm going to take the default (1.5 way) setup from the OSG factory, then go from there. I expect to disengage some of the decel/coast plates at some point early on.

I run one and have had great luck with it for the past couple seasons. Bought it second hand and sent it to OSGiken for tuning and inspection. It was much better after that as I think the initial setup was based on some of the supposed internet experts. I would not follow the advice of some of the articles on the internet about disengaging discs etc. Call OSGiken and ask for Jonathan.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to run it as delivered from those guys, then change things as I think I'll need after some track time. Good tip thanks.

They make good stuff, don't know why they'd be "bad" for any car. I think the only reason everyone uses rebuilt BMW diffs is because they're cheaper.

We're about to find out. Lands on my doorstep today.

I'm also going down/up in gearing from 3.91 to 4.27. Never seem to get over 130 except RA and the 3.91 is good for 146.

Between the two I'm hoping for some time. Still need about a second (and knock off the driving rust) to get to the podium.
